Apple has been working on an idea to create a "Holy Grail" for monitoring blood sugar levels to control diabetes for five to six years. It was Steve Jobs, who first envisioned to create a wearable device like a smartwatch to monitor important vitals like O2 levels, heart rate, and blood glucose, etc. Now Apple is about to release a new Apple Watch which could be a major breakthrough in the battle against diabetes.
According to BGR, reports stated that the Apple Watch could become indispensable for diabetic patients. The new fitness tracker is the center of attraction of Apple Watch. A report, familiar with Apple's Plan has stated that the company is about to introduce a new game-changing glucose monitoring feature in the Apple Watch. One member of the Apple Watch team said that Apple is developing optical sensors which will help to measure indications of Glucose through the skin. The American Diabetes Association has reported that the effort of monitoring diabetes through Apple Watch could lead a historic achievement in the world of health and fitness. Further reports comprised that to give Apple Watch a modular twist, Apple has planned to introduce interchangeable "good watch bands". Each band serves a distinct goal, such as digicam band or an additional battery band.
According to CNBC, Apple's small secret team of biomedical engineers are constantly working on developing sensors that can monitor blood sugar levels to treat diabetes more accurately. One of the team experts John L. Smith mentioned that detecting accurate glucose level through Apple Watch was "the most difficult technical challenge I have encountered in my career".
