The New Peugeot 308 Gets A Facelift As The Leaked Images Suggest

The French automobile manufacturer brought the small family car back in 2007. Peugeot 308, the first car of the X08 series went through a number of facelifts starting from 2011. The second generation of the family hatchback was awarded the "2014 European Car of the Year."
Peugeot is going to give its 308 C-segment hatchback a facelift to compete with rival Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, later in 2017.  The recently leaked images show there are subtle tweaks in the design of upcoming Peugeot 308.

Peugeot has got some competition coming in their way from Renault Megane, Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus. To make sure they don't fall behind in the race, Peugeot is all set to give a facelift to its prized asset Peugeot 308 hatchback.
According to Auto Express, the hatchback gets some subtle tweaks in the design and not anything drastic. The front the car gets a new "equaliseresque" grille with the Peugeot logo moves from the tip of the bonnet onto the grille. Under the grill, there is a new front bumper, new fog lamps with larger air intakes. Also, the headlights get slightly reshaped.
There is still no concrete news about Peugeot 308 getting anything new under the hood. Though according to the rumors, a newly developed turbo-diesel 1.5-liter BlueHDI in 100 and 120 horsepower could power the upcoming models. As it seems Peugeot doesn't want to make a whole lot of changes. The popular designs inside the car will not be touched; only some "much needed" changes will take place accordingly.
According to Motor1, not everything has changed in the car. Peugeot 308 still has the popular dashboard and center console layout. There will be no "second generation Peugeot i-Cockpit" in the revised design. It means the revised design will keep the Analogue Dials. Though the tail lights have a slightly different graphics and the bumper too looks a bit different than the previous version. - revised is improper usage of the word.
The leaked images have dark contrast and as a result, it makes things difficult for us to determine the exact changes. But from as little we could see, things are looking much promising than before. The company might want to bring the changes as soon as possible to keep its grip on the market. Even though there is a sense of urgency, the revised models of the Peugeot 308 hatchback could be launched in the last quarter of this year.
